“Introduction Program for the BESİ Organized Agricultural Zone (OTB) Held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry”

A meeting was held at the Kırıkkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KTSO) to discuss the establishment of the BESİ Organized Agricultural Zone (OTB), planned within the districts of Balışeyh and Delice, bringing together stakeholders from the sector. Attendees included KTSO President Ahmet Varlı, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Fatih Ateş, Kırıkkale Ziraat Bank Central Branch Manager Mehmet Resul Yıldız, chamber members, and other interested citizens.

In his opening speech, Mr. Varlı expressed his gratitude to Provincial Director Ateş for his efforts regarding the BESİ Organized Agricultural Zone projects and then gave the floor to Mr. Ateş. In his presentation, Director Ateş explained that the project aims to revitalize animal production in the province, improve animal shelters, unite businesses under a common infrastructure, relocate agricultural enterprises outside residential areas, ensure hygienic production, promote cost-effective production, and increase producer incomes. For these reasons, the Kırıkkale BESİ Organized Agricultural Zone (OTB) is planned to be established within the boundaries of Balışeyh and Delice. He added that the purpose of the meeting was to introduce the project and generate the necessary demand to move into the construction phase. The implementation of this project will represent an important step for livestock production in Kırıkkale.

The BESİ Organized Agricultural Zone (OTB) project will be carried out jointly by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Kırıkkale Governorship Special Provincial Administration, Kırıkkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kırıkkale Commodity Exchange. The project will be established on a 3,800-decare site and will include:

  • Livestock enterprises
  • Feed factory
  • Slaughterhouse
  • Cold storage facilities
  • Wastewater treatment plant
  • Animal hospital
  • Fertilizer storage area
  • Administrative and social facilities
  • Industrial areas
  • Biogas plant

Through this meeting, project stakeholders were able to move one step further from the planning stage by discussing the proposed OTB.

Following the presentations, participants’ questions were answered, and information from interested attendees was collected before the meeting concluded.
