MAY 19th SYMBOLIZES INDEPENDENCE

Highslide JS

The Turkish War of Independence, which began on May 19th and set an example to the world, is one of the greatest and most epic achievements in world history for our nation, whose defining characteristic is independence. We celebrate with great pride and enthusiasm the 104th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's initiation of the National Struggle from Samsun. May 19th, 1919, is not just a date on the calendar; it signifies the rebirth of a nation, the expression of national willpower, and the declaration of independence.

May 19th, the date when our nation embarked on the national struggle despite all difficulties, has become a symbol of the unity and integrity of the Turkish nation, demonstrating that we stand together against any attack or threat to our independence, and no force can take away our independence.

May 19th is a significant turning point in the history of the Turkish nation, as it marks the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. We are aware that the future of our republic lies in the hands of the youth and that our country will prosper only through the efforts of the young. Therefore, we need young people who will protect our republic and independence, and who will elevate our country to the ranks of contemporary nations. We believe that our youth will fulfill this responsibility in the best possible way.

On this occasion, we commemorate with gratitude and respect the founder of our republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as our heroic comrades-in-arms, our martyrs who fearlessly fought for this homeland, and our veterans. We also celebrate the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth, and Sports Day, which represents the hope of tomorrow entrusted to our young generation.
