Despite the contraction in the domestic economy under the impact of the pandemic, 2020 was a record year in exports. Evaluating the foreign trade data of Kırıkkale for the year 2020, TSO President Ahmet Varlı said that the export figures in the province exceeded the import figures.

Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) announced export figures for December and 2020 in general. Turkey's exports in December 2020, compared to the same month last year despite the pandemic conditions, was 17 billion 844 million dollars, an increase of 16 percent, reached the highest monthly export figure in the history of the Republic. Ahmet Varlı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who made an evaluation on Kırıkkale's 2020 foreign trade data, said that the number of exporting companies increased for the first time last year. Noting that the export volume, which was 6 million 999 thousand 85 dollars in the first eleven months of 2019, increased to 9 million 982 thousand 505 dollars in the same period of 2020, Varlı said that there was an increase of 3 million dollars in exports. Sharing information about import figures, Varlı stated that the import, which was 14 million 817 thousand 17 dollars in the first eleven months of 2019, decreased by 5 million 952 thousand 96 dollars in 2020 to 8 million 864 thousand 921 dollars. According to these figures, when the import and export figures of 2019-2020 are compared, Varlı pointed out that the exports increased and the imports decreased. He stated that the exports realized in the “products” sectors accounted for approximately 90% of the total exports.
